I'd to thank the Hillbilly Researcher and my cool on-line buddy Uncle Gil for putting me on to this great little comic hillbilly bopper. I heard it for the first time only yesterday, cheers guys. Tex Cherry with the 'Dirty Jim Blues'.

ReplyDeleteDoes anybody have info regarding the subject of this song "Dirty" Jim Ross. From what I gathered from the song, he was a early Houston, TX TV celebrity. But that's about all I know.
ReplyDeleteFrom my research (which did not uncover much) it seems Jim Ross was a Houston DJ in the mid 1950s. I've posted an old billboard image of a review of Tex Cherry's 1956 single release above.
